Meet the new, and highly anticipated, Casper High Speed Detachable Quad.
Jackson Hole snow conditions have continued to improve. It looks like the snow gods are finally giving Jackson a little love. The Bridger Gondola, Marmot chair, and the new Casper chair are now open. The additional acreage has given folks some space to spread out and take advantage of the new snow. The coverage is pretty good for this time of year and the snow is in great condition. As of this morning the mountain reported 5″ in the last 24 hours with potential for more.
The new Casper chair combined with the trail grooming and terrain enhancements have beefed up this mid-mountain playground. The new chair is a high speed detachable quad providing quick and comfortable access to a large portion of Jackson Hole’s intermediate terrain.
The upper mountain at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort(JHMR) is due to open over the weekend including the Tram. The upper portions of the mountain have seen a slow but steady trickle of snow over the past few days. Winds combined with the new snow continue to buff things out. The snow is still thin on the lower slopes, so be aware, ongoing snow making efforts have covered egress routes. It will still be a bit until the Hobacks and Lower Faces are ready to go.
Grand Targhee will be opening additional terrain over the weekend as well. Their high base elevation, at 8000′, lends itself to exceptional coverage throughout the season. If you are visiting the area be sure to take advantage of the Targhee Express and see what Targhee is all about.
It is my understudying that Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and Grand Targhee Resort are currently offering some of the best conditions out there. Come experience the Tetons and all they have to offer, there’s plenty of action off slope.
Snow King resort continues to make snow as temperatures allow and unfortunately will be postponing their opening which had been planned for this weekend. The way things are shaping up, they should have their chairs spinning sooner than later.
