Non-motorized traffic can now enjoy the roads in Grand Teton National Park.
Once the roads are cleared, for a period of time each Spring, the park is open to non-motorized travel. Bike, walk, rollerblade etc. on the roads before they are open to cars. Rent a bike and experience the park in a way few people do. Make a day of it and take a picnic lunch, dine where you enjoy the views the most.
Many park in the Taggart parking area and venture North to to do the Jenny Lake loop. The Northern end of the park can be accessed via Moran, then head to Signal Mountain Lodge area or explore further North. The serenity is amazing. Locals truly enjoy this time of year as they are used to sharing the park with many more visitors.
Yellowstone National Park Road Information
Yellowstone’s West entrance opening date is April 19. Providing access to Madison Junction, Mammoth Hot Springs to Old Faithful, and Norris to Canyon Village.
The South entrance opening date is May 10. Providing access from Grand Teton National Park. The roads to West Thumb, Lake Village to West Thumb, West Thumb to Old Faithful (Craig Pass), Tower Junction to Tower Fall.

Alpine skiing is available at Grand Targhee Resort Unitl April 14th.
Nordic skiing or snowshoeing at higher elevations on Teton Pass can provide a unique escape.
If the river is clear and the weather good, flyfishing would be a great way to get out on the water. Experience fishing the world renown Snake River.
You can never go wrong with a wildlife tour.
Once trails dry, there is limited hiking and mountain biking available along the valley floor. Community Pathways offers up a large network of paved trails running all over the valley.
