May 10-12, 2013
Jackson Hole Spring Weekend is an early Spring weekend featuring a number of coordinated events. The weekend holds a 5K race, Spring Cleanup tasks around the valley, “Bras for a Cause,” a Tough Towner, and Eco-Fair.
The Spring Runoff 5k race starts from the Stilson parking area at the Intersection of Hwys. 22 & 390.
Bras for a Cause is an annual fund raising event sponsored by Soroptomists of Jackson Hole. Bras for a Cause helps generate donations to go towards fighting breast cancer. Certainly one of the more entertaining fundraisers held in Jackson. A number of local businesses and artists design bras which are then auctioned off at the fashion show/fundraiser. There have been some incredibly creative designs over the years.
Spring cleanup involves pitching in on any of a number of Spring projects around the valley. For more information about Community Spring Clean-Up Week, please contact Muriel Blaha, mblaha@tetonwyo.org or 307.733.7678.
The Eco-Fair will feature green technologies, organic meats & produce, products, and locally handcrafted ales. The fair will be held on May 11 at the Snow King Ball Field.
Mother’s Day will see the return of the Tough Towner, Jackson’s version of a Tough Mudder. Billed as “The Ultimate Community Obstacle Course Race,” come out and participate or spectate. Individuals and teams will compete for top prize. Last Fall we witnessed the inaugural race and the participation was high. The course looped through town and incorporated a number of innovative obstacles.
