Fall Arts Festival 2019

The Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival has become one of the most widely recognized art events the Rockies. Each Fall thousands of art enthusiasts descend upon Jackson for this event. The 2019 Festival is scheduled to take place September 5th thru the 16th this year. The combination of art, music, and cuisine can overwhelm the senses.

The featured artists this year are Kathryn Mapes Turner and John Simms.

Don’t miss out on this extravaganza! There are a number of events occurring throughout this 11 day period. Local galleries will have featured artists in-house throughout the festival. The Fall Arts Festival has grown into quite an event over the years. The complete 2019 Fall Arts Festival Program is online!

Wednesday the 6thh the festival kicks off with the Western Design Conference Gala Event: Fashion and Jewelry Show.

Friday the 6th don’t miss the Palates and Paletes Gallery Walk, a local favorite. Palates and Palettes pairs local restaurants and caterers with galleries for an incredible social evening of fine cuisine, art and wine right downtown. A gallery walk  like no other, downtown truly comes alive.

Sunday the 9th will feature the Taste of the Tetons. Valley chefs, restaurants, and caterers put their best culinary work on display for sampling. Each taste ticket is $1. Tastes generally range from two to four tickets. In addition to the open-air tasting fair, participants will enjoy the Annual Takin’ It to the Streets, a juried art fair featuring 40 local artists, and the Rotary Supper Club’s Wine Tasting and Silent Auction! Also on the 10th is the Takin’ it to the Streets event featuring 40 local artists.

Saturday the 14th the Quick Draw competition and auction is also quite popular, celebrating its 21st year as part of the annual Fall Arts Festival. The “Quick Draw” features nationally, regionally, and locally recognized artists who will demonstrate their skills at this unique alfresco event. One-of a-kind artwork will be auctioned off following the ninety minute creative process where spectators will watch artists paint and sculpt and create before your eyes. I truly enjoy this event, don’t miss out on this opportunity!

Sunday the 15th enjoy Art Brunch Gallery Walk brunch and festive beverages at this closing-day celebration of the Fall Arts Festival! Brunch, Bloody Marys and spectacular art.

There is certainly no shortage of things to do while the Fall Arts Festival is in town!

The JacksonHoleLive! concert series continues to provide quality entertainment to the community. Throughout the summer, live music is available at the Snow King Ballpark. The ballpark is located at the base of Snow King mountain. This all-ages evening concert series is a welcome addition to the music scene in Jackson. Coming to fruition after years of anticipation, hope, and hard work this has finally happened. Shows generally wrap up around dusk, and provide a welcome social event for visitors and locals. Dogs are not allowed on the ball field. A five block walk from the town square and convenient to the S.T.A.R.T. bus, makes it easy to get back and forth from the show. Title sponsor is the Snake River Brewery.

There are a number of local food vendors available with dishes that delight. There is a mix of beverages for all ages, ice cream and shaved ice. Don’t forget the lawn chair or blanket for lounging. A number of local acts will be opening for these bands throughout the Summer.

Bring the whole family out as this is an all-ages event. Please try to utilize public transportation or bicycles. Come early and enjoy the community atmosphere. There is a large children’s play area, featuring a number of activities to keep them entertained.

Concerts on the Commons in Teton Village on Sunday evenings throughout the summer have developed into quite the night. Kicking off at 5pm and generally wrapping up around 9pm. The “Commons” area in Teton Village serves as an intimate outdoor concert venue at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. The family friendly nature lends itself to a fun night out for the whole crew. There are a number of food and beverage options available. Many folks will make a picnic out of the event. Bring a blanket, stretch out on the lawn, and enjoy the show.

The Met: Live in HD

The Grand Teton Music Festival in conjunction with the Center for the Arts host a number of performances from the Metroplitan Opera in NY. The Met: Live in HD series has been going for over eight seasons. The season kicks off October 15 with the live transmission of Il Travatore. There will be an Opening Night Reception prior to the broadcast on October 15th sponsored by Rendevous Bistro & Bistro Catering, show up early!

The season concludes on April 14th with Madama Butterfly. The series has gained tremendous popularity and has currently expanded to reach thousands of theaters in countries around the world.

The broadcasts take place at the Center for the Arts in downtown Jackson.

The current season will wrap up in April with Madama Butterfly. The mid-April showing of Madama Butterfly would be a perfect activity to get you out and about deep in the heart of Jackson’s “off-season.”

Tickets are $20/Adults & $12/Students(w/processing fee included).

9th Annual JH Crawfish Boil

The Jackson Hole Crawfish Boil is a celebration of Louisiana tradition in the heart of the Tetons. Great music, great food, and even better people. This years Crawfish Boil is going to be bigger than ever. A ticket to the Boil includes: live music all day starting at 12:30, boiled crawfish with corn & potatoes, the best red beans-n-rice in the West provided by Sweetwater Restaurant, and yard games galore! Bring your lawn chairs, picnic blankets, and get ready to have one of the best days of the Summer with us!

By far one of the most entertaining and laid back events to hit the Hole. Locals thoroughly enjoy this day of all ages entertainment. I look forward to this day each year, the food is delicious and the music line-up tends to be quite good. The original version started out being hosted at Cutty’s Bar and Grill, located across from Alberstons. After a number of years the Boil outgrew its digs and had to relocate to the Snow King Ballpark.
