Grand Targhee will be opening this weekend! Officially kicking off lift served skiing in the Jackson Area, thank you Targhee. Last weekend’s storm dropped around 40″ in the the Tetons at upper elevations. It looks like another storm system passing through the Tetons over this coming week. Snow conditions have been nice in the backcountry. Resort preparations seem to be going well. It should be a fabulous opening day!!

Each Spring Grand Targhee Resort hosts a number of events towards the end of the season. The Spring Break Away is yet another growing project at the mountain. Lodging deals are available. Enjoy the relaxing resort environment of Grand Targhee and its fabulous terrain. Spring storms can bring ample snowfall. Awesome views of the Tetons and Spring corn await. Grand Targhee is a hidden gem in the Rockies. A lack of lift lines is one of the most appealing aspects of the resort. An average annual snowfall of 500″ guarantees coverage.
Snowcat skiing and snowboarding are also available at the resort, and well worth checking out.
Temperatures tend to be mild and there are some great places to check out while in the area. Head to Wildlife Pizza & Brewery to sample local brews.

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort opens for the 2015/2016 ski season. Riders are excited throughout the area to get in some lift served skiing on this side of the pass. Terrain will be limited, not unusual for this time of year. Snowmakers have been working hard, temperatures have been cooperative. Anticipate a quality mixed base of natural and manmade snow.
It is Jackson Hole Mountain Resort’s 50th anniversary season this year, Friday the 27th will see throwback pricing…lift tickets will be $6…see you out there.
Grand Targhee Resort opened last weekend bringing lift served riding to Teton County. Reports were good, additional natural snowfall has only beefed up conditions for them.
Snow King Mountain will be hosting Nor-Am races on the 26th & 27th. The races will feature over 200 races from nine countries. They have been working hard on the race course, the new snowmaking system has been killing it for them. Stop by to check out some world class racers, the competition will be intense.

It looks like we should be looking another storm system passing through the Tetons over this coming weekend(11-21 & 11-22-14).
The ski and snowboard season kicks off for Grand Targhee Resort opening on November 22, 2013. Lift serviced slopes will once again grace our corner of Wyoming. The mountains surrounding Teton County have recently received over 12″ of snow above 9000′. Snow continues to fall, while weather for the week ahead looks like there is a good potential for some additional snowfall.
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is due to open on Thanksgiving Day, November 28th. The snowmaking crews have been dealing with some slightly warmer than anticipated temperatures while trying to create some base at lower elevations.
Snow King has started firing up the snow guns when temperatures have been conducive. They are shooting for an early December opening.
The weekend’s snowfall drew a number of locals to Teton Pass to sample the goods. A few hearty souls even made some tracks in town on the King. The parking lot at the top of the Pass was especially full Sunday. There has been some recent avalanche activity around the area, so be safe exploring the backcountry.
The Grand Targhee Bluegrass Festival is now in its 26th year. Targhee hosts one of the longest running Bluegrass festivals in the Rocky Mountain Region. The environment at Targhee is relaxing, they do a great job hosting music events.
The weekend has a full ine-up of musicians. Artists appearing this year will include:The Infamous Stringdusters, Trampled By Turtles, Elephant Revival, Greensky Bluegrass, Foghorn Stringband, Guy Clark, Run Boy Run, Sam Bush Band, Nashville Bluegrass Band, Della Mae and Hayes Carll.
