Virginian Cafe

My go to breakfast spot. Get the huevos, you won’t be disappointed. Everything you order will delight your belly.

Corbett’s Cabin Waffles

Don’t miss out on a tasty waffle on top of the world. Inside Corbett’s Cabin, at the top of the aerial tram at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in Teton Village. The waffle is delicious, and the view can be amazing, served at over 10,000′ above sea level. Tram opens at 9am, line up early for first waffle. The views from the summit of the surrounding valley, on a clear day, are unsurpassed.

D.O.G.=Down on Glenwood

If you are on the go, give DOG a call at 733-4422 to pick up breakfast on the way to your destination. There is a small patio area to dine in. Always fast and filling, DOG is truly a local favorite. Located between Broadway and Pearl street, on Glenwood. They do have an additional, “westbank”, location in the Wilson gas station. Both locations are delicious, they also do lunch. Everyone loves the breakfast burrito, but I tend to lean towards the Kaiser with a little salsa.

Halloween in Jackson Hole

Hauntingly fun, Jackson goes all out for this holiday. Snow King Resort hosts the largest Halloween party, drawing hundreds of costumed revelers. Known as the KMTN Halloween Bash, it is probably the biggest event that is going on. Live music and a large number of revelers make this party a big hit.

A number of other local establishments hold Halloween festivities as well.

Utilize public transportation and taxis, as law enforcement is on the lookout for mischief, and individuals that have celebrated a little too much.

J.H. Farmer’s Market

Saturdays mornings on the Town Square

The Jackson Hole Farmers Market occurs each Saturday morning on the Town Square from July to September. The market runs from 8am to 12pm. Not only are there fruits and veggies, but baked goods, canned good and more. The community and visitors to the area have embraced the Farmers Market since it kicked off in the Summer of 2000. Attendance has steadily grown each year as the Farmer’s Market has become more diversified and now offers a larger number of vendors.

Raised in a family with a large garden I was exposed to fresh produce at an early age. Flavor is the best part, local produce tends take on the characteristics of its environment. High elevation, frost resistant crops that are widely grown in the area possess a fabulous crispness and taste.

The growing trend of Farmers Markets across the country has helped to nurture awareness of healthy eating, buying locally and getting to know your neighbors. The Hole Concierge strongly endorses increased consumption of organic foods, the localization of production and its inherent benefits. Farmers Markets provide healthy locally grown and produced products which in turn assists in creating sustainability within local economies. A number of small organic farms have cropped up in the area over the last few years creating jobs and reducing commuter traffic in the area.

Featured each week is a different chef, musician or group, and a non-profit. Vendors at the market donate 10% of their gross sales to the non-profit of the week. Over the past ten plus years the market has donated over $200,000 to local non-profit organizations. There are games for the kids and other features of the market. Hope to see you down on the Square.
